To whom it my concern, the Urbana TWP Zoning Commission, Champaign County, OH, will be having a public meeting to discuss making changes to our Zoning Resolution. The meeting will be held at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, 9-9-26 at the township house located at 2564 St. Rt. 54.
The proposed amendments, initiated by Resolution of the Township Trustees, will add definitions for Data Centers and Energy Storage Systems. In addition, several definitions will be modified, to include Dwellings, Mobile Home Parks, Solar Energy and others. Finally, it will add additional notification methods to announce public meetings. It will also eliminate new Mobile Home Parks, Nursing Homes, Data Centers and Energy Storage Systems as conditional or permitted uses in Urbana Township.
The text of the proposed amendment will be available for examination at the Champaign County Library, 1060 Scioto Street, Urbana, OH 43078 or on the Urbana TWP website. The library is open Monday thru Thursday 9:00 am to 8:00 pm and 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Friday and Saturday.
After the conclusion of the public meeting, the matter will be submitted to LUC Regional Planning Commission for their consideration.

The Urbana Township Zoning Commission, Champaign County, OH, will hold a public hearing concerning proposed amendments to the Urbana Township Zoning Resolution on August 18, 2026 at 7:00 pm at the Urbana Township Hall located at 2564 St Rt 54, Urbana, OH.
The proposed amendments, initiated by motion of the Zoning Commission, proposes to amend Article II Definitions by adding a definition of “Battery Energy Storages System, Small Off Site” and “Data Center”, update definitions related to dwellings and manufactured/ mobile homes and update definitions related to solar energy systems. It also amends Article V Administration by updating public notice requirements and Board of Zoning Appeals public hearing timelines, Article VI Amendments by adding clarity and removing much of the process and replacing it with a reference to ORC 519.12 for the necessary steps and Section 1061 Solar Panels. It also updates text throughout the Resolution regarding manufactured/ mobile homes.
The text of the amendments will be available for examination at the Champaign County Library, 1060 Scioto Street, Urbana, OH 43078. The library is open Monday- Thursday 9:00 am to 8:00 pm and 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Friday and Saturday.
After the conclusion of the public hearing, the matter will be submitted to the Urbana Board of Trustees for their action.

SPECIAL/EMERGENCY MEETINGS:
An emergency meeting was held on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at 10:30 A.M. by the Board of Urbana Township Trustees with members Blair Stinson, Roger Koerner and Matt Harrigan present regarding the Enterprise Zone Agreement needs to be submitted to the State by November 1, 2024 for Urbana Health Facilities, LLC and Champaign Residential Services, Inc. By unanimous vote the Enterprise Zone Agreement was approved.
An emergency meeting was held on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 2:20 P.M. by the Board of Urbana Township Trustees with members Blair Stinson, Roger Koerner, and Matt Harrigan present regarding a garage door failure and an estimated repair of $2,000.00 to replace the motor and opener. By unanimous vote the emergency repair was approved.
